Every year in July, the IIRSI hosts an ophthalmic conference in Chennai. It invites eminent foreign faculty members to share their experience in their respective subspecialties.
The conference includes invited Foreign Faculty Lectures, Live Surgery, Hands-on Wetlab, Ophthalmic Premier League, IIRSI Film Festival Award Show (IFFA), IIRSI Photography Competition, Court Martial in Ophthalmology, Company Sponsored Symposiums, Sessions for Young Ophthalmologists, and many other activities.

IIRSI attendees can enjoy a scientific feast for two days. They will learn new techniques in Cataract and Refractive Surgery, gain hands-on experience in the Wet-lab, and be able to begin practicing with confidence. They will be able to interact with and clarify their doubts with expert ophthalmologists. They can compete for exciting prizes in the IIRSI Photography Competition and the IFFA - IIRSI Film Festival. They may visit the Trade area to find the best prices on ophthalmic materials and equipment.

Mamallapuram, also known as Mahabalipuram, is a town in Chengalpattu district in the southeastern Indian state of Tamil Nadu, best known for the UNESCO World Heritage Site of 7th- and 8th-century Hindu Group of Monuments at Mahabalipuram. It is one of the famous tourist sites in India. The ancient name of the place is Thirukadalmallai. It is a part of Chennai Metropolitan Area. It is a satellite town of Chennai.
One of the oldest museums in the Indian subcontinent, the Government Museum, Chennai was founded in 1851. Later on, the building was shifted to its current site. Spread in the area of 16 acres, the museum has six independent buildings and forty-six galleries. With a huge collection, belonging to different eras and time-frames, this vintage building has a rich collection of numismatic, archaeological, and anthropological displays.
