About Indian Intra Ocular Implant and Refractive Society of India (IIRSI) Indian Intra Ocular Implant and Refractive Society of India (IIRSI): Indian IIRS was started in 1982 with the objective of having a platform for interaction within Ophthalmologists across India for discussing the advancement and their experience in IOL implantation and LASIK & Refractive Surgery; and contribute to the treatment of preventive blindness. IIRS under the aegis of leading Ophthalmologists, also provides a platform for the aspiring upcoming surgeons to abreast themselves with different ways of tackling the difficult cases of cataract surgery and interacting with leaders. The IIRSI journal also carries similar element. The IIRSI society also works towards the public awareness on eye care and advancement in eye care. The most recognized innovative surgical technique across the globe and some of the surgeon’s contribution towards ophthalmology is recognized and honoured with gold medal / shield during the IIRSI conferences.
